Irish Impact

Being Irish and Catholic is a unique identity that all of us share in the Hibernians. The Ancient Order of Hibernians in America is the largest Irish fraternal organization of its kind which boasts having a former President, John Fitzgerald Kennedy as one of its members.

Our members make an impact and are proud of their membership in the Hibernians.

“To me being Irish American means recognizing and understanding the tremendous impact that my family’s evermore distant roots in Mayo have on me. Much closer though, it is the common foundation of my family's history over the last three generations as members of the Irish communities in Chicago and Kansas City. I have made an effort to learn Irish, to be able to understand the mindset of our ancestors and the world whence our own derived.

The Hibernians offer a real tangible community, and here in Kansas we’ve all found a group of likeminded guys who are a joy to be around. Ultimately as much as our common heritage is what brought us together in the AOH, it’s the camaraderie that will keep Hibernianism going in Kansas. The AOH has become a truly Irish American organization, a source of strength and community for ourselves the descendants of immigrants and exiles who have now made a new home in America, which is something I think we ought to be very proud of.”  Seán K.

“It is the center of my being.

It is the connection that I have to God, Ireland and my fellow man.

Being a Hibernian brings out the best in me.” John L.

“I've been a member of The Father Donnelly AOH Division since 2004. During that time I have enjoyed a sense of "Brotherhood" with this group of wonderful men who are proud of both their Irish heritage and Catholic faith. Through the years this group has either organized or participated in countless charitable events, resulting in literally thousands of dollars of charitable donations and ten's of thousands of man-hours volunteering to bring our Irish Heritage, Catholic Faith, community assistance, and goodwill to dozens of worthwhile organizations. Reflecting back on those 18 years and what we've accomplished makes me very proud to be a Father Donnelly Brother in The AOH.

But it's not all about work. These are some of the most fun knuckleheads you'll ever encounter. I've enjoyed countless hours of laughs, shenanigans, and memories as a result of this group.

I hope you'll consider joining The Ancient Order of Hibernians. I think you'll be significantly rewarded by being a member of an organization with such rich history & heritage that embodies our motto of Unity, Friendship, and Christian Charity.” Denny D.
